Prince William: 17 Years of Life
Prince Charles and Diana, Princess of Wales with son William at age 2 in Kensington Palace Gardens. Prince William Arthur Philip Louis was born on June 21, 1982 at St. Mary's Hospital in Paddington, London. William weighed in at 7 lbs. and 10 ounces (3.4 kg).

His parents are HRH Prince Charles, Prince of Wales and the late Diana, Princess of Wales. William has one brother, named Prince Henry Charles Albert David (Harry), who is now 14.

Prince William was christened in the White Drawing Room of Buckingham Palace on August 4, 1982. At the christening, William wore the same christening gown as his father wore at his christening back in 1948.

When he was young, William could be quite a handful, which earned him numerous nicknames, including King Tot, Billy the Basher, and William the Terrible!

He often climbed into wastebaskets, trying to flush Prince Charles' shoes down the toilet, and curiously pressed buttons. This led to alarms ringing all over Buckingham Palace.

His behavior wasn't unusual at all, for a child his age, but he was a royal baby, and that made all the difference.

In September 1984, William became a big brother to his new brother Harry. William was nurturing and playful with little Harry. William had mastered a handshake and a salute by 3 and by 4, he took a ride on his pony, and began waving excitedly to the press.

Prince William at the age of 15 at Balmoral Prince William began his education at Mrs. Mynor's Nursery School in West London in 1985 and left there in 1987.

William then went onto Wetherby in Kensington, London in 1987 and left there in 1990.

After Wetherby, William then went onto Ludgrove in Wokingham from 1990-1995.

Ever since 1995, Prince William has been going to Eton College in Windsor. He started Eton in 1995. His brother, Harry, joined him in 1998.

In the 2 years since Diana's death, he has had family and friends to help him get through that tragic event.

Prince William just recently became the Captain of the Eton Swim Team and not to long ago, he became the godfather to baby Konstantine Alexios of Greece.

On June 19, 1999, just 2 days before his 17th birthday, William attended the wedding of his uncle, Prince Edward. Prince Edward married Sophie Rhys-Jones, his girlfriend for 5 years.

When June 21 comes around, William knows he will be able to celebrate this great day with his family and close friends. Let me be the first to say, Happy Birthday Prince William!
